Youth – Waukegan FUMC

Youth Ministry

The youth at First United Methodist Church are in 6th through 12th grades. We offer Sunday school classes during the 10:00 worship service followed by youth group during the school year. During coffee hour, students can hang out in the game room. At noon, we gather in Fellowship Hall for lunch together provided by one of our families, and then we play games. Afterwards, we gather to reflect on scripture and share our faith journey. We end at 1:45 p.m.

There are special activities and events  throughout the year. We participate in an annual winter retreat in February. Senior High students go on a mission trip or camping trip during the summer.

Confirmation classes are held for 6th-8th grade students during the school year. Confirmation provides an opportunity for youth to reflect on the meaning of their faith and learn more about the history of the United Methodist Church and the teachings of Jesus Christ.
