There are several committees and groups that are always looking for the participation and support of church members. Some of these include

Opportunities are available to all members in the following areas.

- Bible Buddy
- Disciple Bible Teacher
- Vacation Bible School Teacher
- Sunday School Teachers
- Confirmation Mentor

Everyone is welcome to participate in these groups and organizations
- The Seekers... 9:00 am Adult Sunday School... Topics change quarterly
- Disciple Bible Study... 32-week studies of the Bible offered every year. Disciple 1, 2, 3 and 4 can be in conjunction with other area United Methodist Churches.
- Into the Word... a study of the Lectionary / Bible readings for the Sunday Worship
- United Methodist Women (UMW) is for all women of the church. Their purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ. Organized to support and sustain local and global missions.
- UMW Circles meet at different times during the month to allow for participation by all women. Please contact the Church Office for latest Circle Schedule.
- Walk to Emmaus... ongoing retreats throughout the year sponsored by The Upper Room Ministries with an emphasis on developing Church Leaders.
- Men's Bible Study meets at 7:00 am on Thursdays. This breakfast get together was started over 40 years ago and although sponsored by FUMC, all men are invited and encouraged to attend.
- United Methodist Men (UMM) All men of the church are invited to attend Conference sponsored UMM functions, Spiritual Events and help with local mission projects.
- Short-Term Studies are offered throughout the year.
UMW Friendly Service
Ministry is to keep the connection between First United Methodist Church and its people who are unable to participate fully in the church services and functions.
