As a United Methodist congregation, our Connectional Ministry extends throughout the world, supporting thousands of programs to those in need.

Free Meal Ministry... every Tuesday for the last 20 years, anyone showing up at the door has been given a hot meal and a warm smile. Four teams take a week each month to purchase, prepare, serve and clean-up for this very special event.

Rainbow Covenant... FUMC works hard to participate in 2nd Mile Giving to a variety of missions. Each color of the rainbow signifies a special mission, from local to international.

The Staben House... A safe home for mothers and children who need just that. Sponsored by the City of Waukegan, FUMC contributes and provides support.

Breakfast with Santa... sponsored by the United Methodists Men's group, a chance for the Staben House kids and moms to share a meal with Santa and receive a gift.

CROP Walk... FUMC participates every October in the Northern Lake County Illinois CROP Hunger Walk which benefits people all over the world.

The Church in mission is a sign of God's presence in the world. First United Methodist Church of Waukegan puts its faith into action at all levels. Lay and clergy volunteers give time and energy to serve in areas such as nursing homes, community centers, prison visitation and building rehad projects.
